(2 miles), bridges cross the Menai Strait to Anglesey, where Beaumaris Castle, the butterfly farm, sea zoo and glorious sandy beaches for water sports are among the island’s many attractions. And at the foot of Snowdon, Llandberis (8 miles) boasts a lakeside and mountain railway as well as a slate museum and huge range of outdoor activities. Shop and pub serving food 1 mile.
